Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Double the cheese, these air fryer cheese sticks are crunchy, delicious and oh so simple.

Ingredients

    • ½ cup (125 mL) flour
    • 3 eggs, beaten
    • 2 cups (500 mL) Cheez-it® crackers, finely crushed (about 1 cup/250 mL after crushed)
    • 1 cup (250 mL) panko breadcrumbs
    • 2 tbsp (30 mL) oil
    • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
    • ¼ tsp (1 mL) salt
    • ¼ tsp (1 mL) onion powder
    • ¼ tsp (1 mL) garlic powder
    • Marinara or ranch for dipping, optional
    • Chopped parsley, optional

Directions

  1. Set the Deluxe Air Fryer & Oven to Air Fry for 7 minutes.
  2. Place the flour in one Coating Tray or shallow plate. Place the beaten eggs in a second tray. In the third tray, combine the crushed crackers, panko, oil, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder and stir to coat everything in the oil.
  3. Coat the string cheese in the flour, shaking off the excess, followed by the egg, and then into the cracker crumbs. Dip them again into the egg and then the cracker crumbs one more time.
  4. Spritz the Air Fryer Rack with oil. Transfer the mozzarella sticks to the rack. When the display says, “Add Food,” place the rack in the oven. Press start. Rotate the rack halfway through cooking.
  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with ranch or marinara sauce for dipping, if you’d like.
